One of eight children of Edmund & Mary Dunham. Ephraim Dunham was born in Piscataway New Jersey 2 May 1696.

He married in Piscataway 26 Jan. 1715/6 Phebe Smalley, daughter of John and Lydia (Martin) Smalley.

Ephraim died after 17 May 1749 when Ephraim and Phebe acknowledged their signatures on a deed [NJ Colonial Deed, Vol. G-2, p. 133-135].
