William Forsythe II and Catherine
John’s son “William” (born 1815) is listed in the Pakenham 1851 Census as being age 36 and of the W. Methodist religion.
The 1861 Census lists William as being a sawyer (occupation) and Methodist. The same census also lists his wife Catherine, age 38; and 5 children: Serah J, age 17, spinster; Alice, age 15, spinster; John, age 11, school; Agnes A, Age 11, school and William J, age 3.
A 300 page book written about the Packenham Forsythe’s by Sylvianne Forsthe-Penner details some very interesting facts about William as being the owner of a sawmill and as being on the village and town council, in the 1860’s.
William’s tombstone in the United Church Cemetery in Cedar Hill, Ontario lists him as having died 1/25/1877, aged 61 years.
