Ewart Henderson
10/22/1914 – 11/15/1987
The following description of Ewart Henderson was composed by Rosemary Cooke.
“Ewart was a quiet, gentle, shy man. He was in the same age bracket as my brother John MacGregor. My mother, Aunt Min and Aunt Hilda were all good to him. Ewart was a victim of his parents. Aunt Mable really babied him. However, after his parents died he seemed to come out of his shell.
Ewart loved following sports. He knew all the baseball players, hockey players, and football players. Around 1980-1983, while living in the Bonnechere Manor, Ewart loved to play horseshoes and competed each year in annual tournaments. I used to take him out Sunday for lunch after Aunt Hilda died and he enjoyed that. He used to call me his angel. I was never really told how he died by the Doctor.”
Marg McKinstry added the following:
“Ewart lost his mother at about the age of 39. He had a great sense of family. He never said an unkind word about anyone.”
